  • Both the Michigan Daily and took pictures of the missing part of the block M in Michigan Stadium.  It looks like someone cut the piece out and then dumped all the rubber on the intact part of the block M.  Bruce Madej believes the field will be fixed in time for the spring game, which is actually set to be the last football-related event on this FieldTurf, as the Big House is scheduled (as far as I know) to get new FieldTurf for the 2010 season.
  • Archie Collins, the one-time defensive coordinator for Detroit Southeastern High School who helped steer recruits like Fred Smith and William Gholston to Michigan State and Jonathan Hankins away from Michigan, is now listed as a coaching aide in MSU’s directory.  What a strange coincidence. • Tigers third baseman Brandon Inge is moving to the Ann Arbor area, and it sounds like we could see him at Yost Arena quite a bit.
  • Steve Lavin was in fact hired by St. John’s.
  • UTEP hired Tim Floyd as its head coach.
  • Boston College and Al Skinner “mutually agreed to part ways.”
