Friday Quick Hits: Michigan, Michigan State Face Off in Hockey

  • Michigan takes on Michigan State tonight and tomorrow in quite possibly the biggest series of the season.  Tonight’s game is at Michigan State and can be seen at 7:05 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.  Tomorrow’s game will be at Joe Louis Arena and starts at 7:35 p.m. on FS Detroit.
  • The Michigan Daily has the story behind the giant Sweden flag that has appeared at recent Michigan hockey games in honor of Carl Hagelin.
  • Wisconsin’s athletics site posted a video that shows the progress of construction of the ice rink at Camp Randall Stadium for the hockey game with Michigan that will take place a week from tomorrow.
  • The ratings for Tuesday’s Michigan-Michigan State basketball game were very good.
  • Signing day for football is next Wednesday.
  • Tony Drake has committed to Colorado State, confirming the talk that he won’t be part of Michigan’s recruiting class due to concerns over grades.  The 2010 table of commitments has been updated to reflect this change.
