Friday Quick Hits: Tate Forcier Listed as Probable for Tomorrow’s Game
- This week’s injury report actually appears to be completely accurate for a change, listing both Tate Forcier and Carlos Brown as having concussions and being probable for tomorrow’s game. David Molk and Zac Johnson are both out.
- Even though it appears Forcier has been cleared based on the fact that he is probable, I keep going back and forth over whether or not he should play. On the one hand, if he is healthy enough to play, then why sit him? On the other hand, unless he is 100% healthy, why risk further injury against Delaware State? After thinking about both sides of the argument, I hope we see Denard Robinson start the game for Michigan. If he is playing well and things are going smoothly, then Rich Rodriguez can tell Forcier to get comfortable on the bench. If things are going poorly, however, then it may be necessary to put Forcier in the game. I would really hope things aren’t going poorly against Delaware State, but Forcier should be dressed and ready to go just in case. Basically, the best-case scenario is he gets to rest tomorrow and Michigan wins with ease; hopefully the worst-case scenario is he plays for a few quarters until it’s a blowout. Obviously there is an even worse worst-case scenario, but let’s not go there.
- Mark Ortmann, Brandon Graham, Ohene Opong-Owusu, and Jason Olesnavage are this week’s captains.
- Brandon Graham is ranked 23rd on Mel Kiper’s “Big Board.”
- Brandan Kearney is reportedly going to pick Michigan State when he announces his decision on November 3.

Agree completely re: Forcier, especially given the fact that new research with regard to concussions in football have been in the news lately on multiple fronts. Robinson needs the work, so it’s a win-win, as it were.
