Friday Quick Hits: Michigan Ranked 15th in Preseason Basketball Polls
- Martavious Odoms is probable for tomorrow’s game against Illinois. Zac Johnson and David Molk are listed as out. It seems like this week’s injury report isn’t completely accurate, because Brandon Minor is definitely banged up and was limited in practice earlier this week.
- This week’s captains are Kevin Grady, Greg Mathews, Tim McAvoy, and Brandon Graham.
- Mike Patrick and Craig James will be the announcers for tomorrow’s Michigan-Illinois game.
- Adrian Witty still wants to come to Michigan, and if he qualifies, you can bet he will join the team.
- The AP and USA Today preseason basketball polls were released on Thursday, and Michigan is ranked 15th in both. Six Big Ten teams are ranked in the AP top 25 and five are in the USA Today top 25, showing just how tough the conference will be this coming season.
- This is actually the first time in 12 seasons that Michigan is ranked at all in a preseason poll.
- Manny Harris was selected to the All-Big Ten preseason team.
- Harris is dealing with a nagging hamstring injury.
- Jordan Morgan has already returned to practice and is close to going full speed.
- Michigan is going to scrimmage at Eastern Michigan on Sunday.
- Crisler Arena’s seating chart has been updated to reflect the changes to the student section.
- John Beilein shared his hopes for Michigan’s new athletic director.
- Check out UM Hoops and Maize & Blog for observations from last Saturday’s open practice.
- Softball player Bree Evans was released from the hospital a couple weeks ago.

FIRE RICH ROD!!!! FIRE RICH ROD!!! HE IS AN IDIOT HE HAS NO IDEA WHAT HE IS DOING!!! 1ST AND GOAL AT 1 YRD LINE WHERE IS THE QB SNEAK!!! HE IS A JOKE!!! FIRE RICH ROD!!!
You have to be crazy!!! Give RICH ROD the time he deserves!!! Us MICHIGAN FANS have been spoiled for way to long and can not take a couple of down years. Let him get his players into the system and then we will see where we are at. I am sick of everyone calling for our coaches head, ever since he came to ANN ARBOR there has been nothing but hatred towards him. I for one want to see RICH ROD and the WOLVERINES succeed together and strongly believe they will with time. If you think you can call the plays better then go into coaching because i would love criticize your play calling, get a clue!!!! RICH ROD is one of if not the smartest coach in college football and i want to see everyone get off his back!!! IN RICH ROD I TRUST!!!! GO BLUE!!!
