Tuesday Quick Hits: Michigan Enters AP Top 25

  • Michigan is ranked 25th in the AP Poll and 26th in the USA Today Poll.
  • Guard David Moosman “popped his shoulder out” during the Notre Dame game and is could be out 1-2 weeks.
  • On a positive note, safety Michael Williams only suffered from cramps on Saturday.  He was taken off the field on a cart, making it seem like his injury was serious, but it turns out it wasn’t anything bad, so he should be good to go against Eastern Michigan.
  • It looks as though Junior Hemingway could return as early as the EMU game, but nothing is for sure.  Rich Rodriguez will again release the injury report on Thursday, which is a new individual policy that he encouraged other Big Ten coaches to adopt back in the spring.
  • There doesn’t appear to be any word on the status of Darryl Stonum, who left the ND game in the second half and didn’t return. (Stonum did come back after his injury.)
  • Tate Forcier and Stonum were named the Big Ten’s Players of the Week for their play against Notre Dame.
  • Greg Mathews took responsibility for Forcier’s interception.  There was a miscommunication of some sort, and Mathews is placing the blame on himself.
  • Forcier is one of four finalists for the AT&T ESPN All-America Player of the Week.
  • There are apparently rumors that Michigan is going to wear all white uniforms at Iowa next month. (HT: MGoBoard)
  • Former Michigan kicker Phil Brabbs has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, which is a cancer of the plasma cell.  My thoughts go out to Brabbs, who is best remembered for his last-second game-winning field goal against Washington back in 2002. (HT: mgoblog)

Tate Forcier’s name is listed (near the bottom) of ESPN’s Heismann Watch list. How cool is that?

    Go Blue!

  2. SFH says:

Stonum was in the final GW touchdown drive, including the final play.
