Tuesday Quick Hits: Michigan to Play Creighton in Old Spice Classic
- The Old Spice Classic’s bracket has been released, and Michigan will play Creighton in the first round. They will play either Xavier or Marquette in the second round, and could match up against Ekpe Udoh and Baylor at some point. The Creighton game will be played at noon on Thanksgiving, which makes little sense to me. It will be right in the middle of the Lions’ annual Thanksgiving game, which just seems like poor planning. Regardless, Michigan will help get the Old Spice Classic started down in Orlando, FL.
- Dick Vitale has Michigan ranked 11th in his preseason basketball poll.
- As you can imagine, the coaches at Ann Arbor Pioneer are excited that Ricardo Miller and his brother, who is 6-6 and plays basketball, are going to their school.
- Countdown to Kickoff on MGoBlue.com is returning for its second year.
- Maize n Brew recapped what Rich Rodriguez had to say at Big Ten Media Days.
- The Patriots have released Matt Gutierrez.
- Lou Holtz is reportedly considering running for Congress. If that’s what it takes to get him off ESPN, I hope he runs and wins.

Oh you are so right on Dr. Lou… the ESPN-Lou-Holtz-love-fest is nauseating at best. I cannot believe the way the WWL gushes over someone who left a trail of scandal and probation at every stop.
