MSC Gets a Small Makeover

As you may or may not have noticed, Michigan Sports Center was slightly redesigned over the weekend.  I switched over to WordPress and made a few alterations to the site’s template.  The look is still a work in progress, though, so don’t be surprised if some things get moved around or changed up a bit in the near future.  My hope is to have a final design ironed out in the next week or so, but I wanted to make the switch to WordPress during a time when people were less apt to visit the site.  That way the downtime that occurred when the switch was made wasn’t during a busy time of posting.

Aside from the site’s look, there are a few other features on the horizon that I hope to have in place in the next couple of months.  In the meantime, make sure to check out the football, basketball, and hockey sections in the navbar, as they currently feature schedules (past, present, and future) and recruiting information.  I will likely add more to the different sports sections in the future, but as mentioned, some of the features are still in development.

If you experience any issues with the site or think something doesn’t look right, please contact me.  I’ve tested the site across multiple browsers, but I doubt I caught every bug out there.  So if you notice a problem, let me know.  (One issue I’m already aware of is that the “Share” feature in each post isn’t functioning correctly, but I am in the process of fixing the problem.)

Don’t know what was going on, but when I initially tried to get to the site, typing “www.michigansportscenter.com” refused to bring me to the site. As I haven’t visited here in a month or more, I was wondering if you’d given MSC up, so I googled it, and got to it via a link somewhere else, and now, when I try to type in the site name with the www attached, it brings it up just fine.

Looking at what sites I just tried to access, I don’t see any evidence that I misspelled the site URL, but I can’t repeat it now….I’ll give it a shot in a second with the browser cache emptied out…

    This is on firefox 3.0.11

For now, call it a non-replicable bug

For the record, I LOVE the 1 minute edit window…wish SBN would implement something like that

not so much a fan of the fact that it’s a hard cap at 1 min, and any edit or additional comments you make in the editor are lost if you don’t save before the time is up, but it’s still a cool feature…

Yeah, it’d be nice if SBN had something similar so people could correct the occasional typo or whatever.

I’ll up the cap since it’s not like there are a ton of comments anyways. On POD, it’d probably be 1 minute or so simply because it wouldn’t be good for people to respond to a comment and then find later it was edited.

    can’t repeat it, cool….
I’ll give it a run at work tomorrow if I remember; I’m just gonna chalk it down to a internet provider hiccup

Yeah, hopefully it’s just that. I was having some issues similar to that when I was in the process of changing to my new host, but they went away after the transfer was complete, so definitely let me know if you experience the issue again.

I thought you were on vacation because I was no longer getting posts in my google reader. Glad to see you are still up and running. Love the site and posts. Go Blue!!!
