Excellent comments on the scrimmage.

I'm as excited as the next person about UM's offense. Actually, I knew RR/Magee would get it rolling eventually with the right players, speed and quickness and some depth on the O-line. If anything, Michigan's total rushing numbers should improve dramatically over 2008. Tate is good, but Denard Robinson is going to push him very hard for the starting spot this August, believe me. DRob is smoother on fakes, can throw equally well in place or on the run, and has the elusiveness of Forcier - but to the 5th power.

The thing that worries me watching the scrimmage is UM's defense.
Nobody really stood out, and I say this even realizing the injuries to RVB, Mouton and sparse play of Graham. I do believe (ironically) UM's D-line will be a team strength. But the LB corps and secondary are weak. Greg Robinson has all of his work well ahead of him.

For GRob's system to work, he really needs some lock down corners and a solid secondary. Otherwise, it can fall apart mighty quick.
Any thought I had comparing Stevie Brown to the next Don Rogers (the UCLA free safety of depth under GRob, and destroyer of Michigan option quarterbacks) was destroyed utterly by David Cone.

Thanks Dave.

It might be from a movie called "Strength and Honour" it's about a boxer, and it was filmed in Ireland.
The film's tagline was:
Wounds Heal, Scars Fade, Glory is forever.

The first link goes to the Wikipedia entry and the second goes to the trailer.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strength_and_Honour

http://www.strengthandhonorthemovie.com/trailer.html

From what I remember, the "Strength and Honour" quote is from the whole Russell Crowe/Gladiator thing. Hence the British spelling.

Right on target with your observations as I felt the same way watching the action. I thought you would have mentioned Jimmy Potempa running back that was with Kennedy and the third unit. He was having a great day with his abality to run hard and hit the holes with such force. It is great to see added depth in the running back position.

That was definitely a success. I had the time of my life. Michigan Stadium is my Heaven on earth and Saturday just made it that much more sureal. I can't wait till fall. The defense was so vanilla and still learning the new base packages that they couldn't really produce like they should. With four months of summer conditioning and 7-on-7 drills they'll be where they need to be by the opening kick-off. GO BLUE! What a great day.
