  • Signing day is only two days away, and just as last year, it is shaping up to be very eventful for Michigan. There are recruits expected to commit to Michigan, one or two defensive tackles expected to decommit from Michigan (they basically have already), and some others that will be announcing and have Michigan listed as a finalist. I will be providing updates throughout the day and will even have a “live update” feed on the left side of the site (above where the ad currently is). Basically, before I post a full story on whatever, I will post a sentence-long update to keep you informed while the story is written. Look for that and plenty of other things on Wednesday.
  • Manny Harris said after the Purdue game that his ejection was “unfair.” I obviously agree, as he did not intentionally throw an elbow. Purdue head coach Matt Painter also didn’t think it was intentional:
“I thought it was just a basketball play,” Painter said. “I thought he was just triple threatening and trying to establish his space.”

Chris Kramer, who was on the receiving end of the elbow, summed the play up best:

“I was trying to deny the ball, (and) he just got me square,” Kramer said. “I blacked out and fell down. I woke up to a pool of blood on the floor. I’m pretty sure my nose is broken. I wouldn’t say it was a dirty play. It was just one of those things where everybody tries to clear space. Everybody does it.”

Everybody does it, yet Manny Harris was ejected from the game for a typical basketball play. Even after having over a day to digest what happened, I’m still furious over the officiating. I sure hope Jim Burr stays far away from Michigan games in the future.

  • Michigan Hockey Net found the rule that was adopted by the NCAA last summer that proves Notre Dame’s first goal in Saturday’s game shouldn’t have counted.
  • Also via Michigan Hockey Net, a 2011 recruit has committed to the Wolverines.
  • The Pittsburgh Steelers won Super Bowl XLIII last night over the Arizona Cardinals by a score of 27-23. It was an amazing game, and LaMarr Woodley actually sealed the victory for the Steelers. He forced a fumble on Arizona’s last offensive play, allowing the Steelers to simply take a knee to run out the clock. Woodley had 2 sacks during the game, and Larry Foote had 2 tackles.

For the Cardinals, Steve Breaston caught 6 passes for 71 yards and returned a punt 34 yards, and Gabe Watson had 1 tackle. Unfortunately, Santonio Holmes was named the MVP of the game, which kind of sucked since he is a Buckeye. Even so, plenty of former Michigan players and coaches were involved in this game, which was good to see.

  • CNN did a story about the city of Pahokee, Florida, and how important football is in that area.

You got beat by 18. Elbows up above the shoulders and clearing them the way he did is an offensive foul.

The ref called it the way he saw it and it didn’t work out to Michigan’s favor. QUIT WHINING!

    This is the Big Ten.

We had a guard who handles the ball 75% of the time knocked out of our lineup on a dirty play from Krabbencheese. I suppose Purdue should complain about that.

You got out hustled and out played in the second half. The first half was impressive on M’s part. Second half, not so much.

Prove the world wrong and don’t be one of those “Michigan homers”.

Broaden the brush you paint with and accept your reality with dignity. Don’t whine about it. Nobody wants to listen that.

    BOILER UP.

No one wants to hear a Purdue homer tell someone not to whine.

Clever. I wonder if you thought that up all by yourself or if you looked it up in a book somewhere?

    Boiler-Anonymous-tool,

We were winning and had the momentum. If you were in our shoes, you would be upset to.

So, STFU- we will see you in AA shortly.

What’s the deal with the CCHA overhead replay only rule? Why not take advantage of the other angles? Is it a matter of whether or not the game is televised, ie, untelevised games don’t have the other shots?

I didn’t say I wouldn’t be upset. What I said is don’t whine about it.

It is not going to change the call. It’s not going to make a difference. The game is done. The outcome has been determined and it included a tough Michigan loss.

I didn’t say it was even a dirty play. It wasn’t. It was basketball. But that’s not the way the ref saw it.

Obviously you’re limited by the depth of the Michigan gene pool so I won’t bother baffling your neurons anymore. Stay warm and watch those pot holes Michiganders.

Hey jackass, so we can’t even discuss stuff that happens in games? No shit it won’t change the call. What is the point of sports if you don’t talk about what happened? Good Lord you’re dumb.

Saw the game on CBS. It was the right call. It doesn’t have to be intentional to be flagrant. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flagrant_foul

Any flagrant foul = immediate ejection. It’s not be a fair rule, but it is a rule.

I like Kramer. He represents the Big 10 well. You want to hate the guy for getting up into you every time, but he plays hard and isn’t a whiner.
