Zack Novak Suspended for One Game

Zack Novak has been suspended for the Purdue game tomorrow due to his ejection from this week’s Ohio State game. The ejection came after Novak elbowed an OSU player in the face in what appeared to be an intentional move. Here is what John Beilein had to say about the situation.

“We are taking swift and appropriate action with Zack for this isolated and very uncharacteristic incident,” said Beilein. “He is a fine young man, and while his actions were unacceptable he understands the severity of them and is apologetic and regretful for his behavior. I am confident Zack will learn a valuable lesson from this imposed discipline and the consequences of his actions.”

This is what I expected and is probably the right punishment. I don’t know who will replace Novak in the starting lineup since he was playing power forward, but I do think we will see much more of Stu Douglass. Hopefully he has a good day shooting the ball, as Michigan will need to play great to beat Purdue.

If you’re looking for some good news, Steve Kampfer is probably going to play against Notre Dame tonight and tomorrow.
