Michigan Beats #1 Notre Dame 2-1
Michigan handed Notre Dame its first loss in 21 games and its first loss since October tonight. The Wolverines won 2-1 in a game that was very close for all 60 minutes. Travis Turnbull got the scoring started for Michigan with around three minutes left in the first period. Then, only 40 seconds into the second period, Tim Miller scored a goal off a faceoff. The puck was dropped and barely went anywhere, and Miller got a shot off that went right by Notre Dame’s Jordan Pearce to make it 2-0 Michigan. Notre Dame added a goal ten or so minutes later, but that was the only time they got past Bryan Hogan on this night.
Michigan and Notre Dame will meet again tomorrow night at Yost Arena. The game will be broadcast on FSN Detroit and will start at 7:35 p.m. ET.
