William Campbell Eliminates Michigan

I am speechless. Watch this and try not to punch a hole in the wall:

I’m not going to badmouth him until he officially picks someone else, but I have to wonder what the hell happened. It certainly seems like he played Michigan all this time, and well, I’ll refrain from saying anything else for right now.

Will has been agreeing with anyone who asks him about any school. He is playing his poker hand very well. The bottom line is, we won’t know until he announces it.

You gotta be kiddin me. We chanted for this kid. There were twenty other recruits there and we chanted for him. I am praying for karma in the form of Taj Boyd, Jelani Jenkins etc. Maybe Rich Rod is really turning into a Michigan man ‘cus he is getting out snake oiled

if this is true something is in the water at Michigan, Something BAD

    Geaux Tigers!

Davenport & Campbell… the next in line at D-Line U

  5. Anonymous says:

What’s up with these recruits making it sound like M dont have a family feel? This is not looking good for Rich Rod. Others will bolt

  6. Anonymous says:

Time to investigate to see what Rich Rod is doing wrong.

  7. Anonymous says:

What a joke. How much did he get paid?

  8. Anonymous says:

Good!!! I don’t want players like him at Michigan. He is too much about himself. I predict that he will never make a name for himself. He reminds me of a Gabe Watson type. He will never live up to the hype. Good luck Will, just don’t come crying to us Michigan fans when you fall flat on your face!!!

  9. Anonymous says:

Even if Big Will falls flat, there is still something wrong at Michigan. Look at the players that decommit they no longer even consider Michigan as an option. This year decommits is more then the number of decommits the past six years combined. This has to be questioned

  10. Anonymous says:

I would be more concerned about him graduating high school than what college he is attending. I guess the five stars had nothing to do with academics???

  11. Anonymous says:

Michigan fan need to stop attacking these players and see why RR is having these problems sealing the deal.

  12. Anonymous says:

Will Campbell has been stringing RR and UofM along for quite a while now (after all the love RR threw his way). But sometimes guys like that are the same way on the football field. Always stringing the coaching staff along while never producing real results. I wish WC well but I imagine that once those southern boys get a hold of him, he’ll think back and wish he was in Ann Arbor. Its time for UofM to move on!

  13. Anonymous says:

Michigan slappys need to face the fact the luster is gone from the BIG HOUSE!

  14. Anonymous says:

RR is a very good college coach but his schemes dont actually prepare kids for the next level. That’s why alot of big time recruits dont want to go to Michigan. There are very few WV players in the NFL. Recruits know this. Look at all his skilled recruits They are these very small fast guys, and not no NFL prospects.

  15. Anonymous says:

Does the name Steve Slaton mean anything to you?

  16. Anonymous says:

Name 5 more thats only one. Be for real

  17. Anonymous says:

what top recruit wants to play in a 3-3-5 scheme?

  18. Anonymous says:

Still waiting on those other guys from WV in the NFL. Gave you time to google.

  19. Anonymous says:

2 more: Pacman Jones and Chris Henry

  20. Anonymous says:

The old Michigan reigme has put more players in the pro’s in one year then WV has in ten years.

  21. Anonymous says:

    ENOUGH SAID ROOKIE!

  22. Anonymous says:

Thats funny that guy could only come up with pacman because Chris Henry didnt go to WV

  23. Anonymous says:

You proved my point you actually had to go look it up. A program that regularly send guys to the NFL you shouldnt have to look up. Bottom line RR programs DONT SEND PLAYERS TO THE NFL. That dont mean he want do a good job at Michigan its just a fact. However he had less talent there, its his schemes the NFL dislikes

  24. Anonymous says:

Dont chris henry, pacman have police records. Good recruiting RR.

  25. Anonymous says:

Top programs get the top high school players in their State. When that dont happen you are not a top program.

  26. Anonymous says:

What a loser. Go ahead, get your degree from some back water U. I hope they paid you well.

  27. Anonymous says:

I hope this kid falls flat on his face. Im sick of players like this. Playing schools just to see what they are going to give to him. Michigan gave him all he could want. Peace of shit.

  28. Anonymous says:

you guys are idiots, wishing bad on teenagers you need to find out why we keep losing prospects. THIS WAS NEVER A PROBLEM BEFORE. I bet most of you lames never got on the field back in your day. Losers!

  29. Anonymous says:

fans need to know we are only bystanders coaches and players do whats best for them. Just as a fan has the right to stop being a fan of a certain team. You people that take it so personal shows me that you are geeks that feel players or coaches owes something to you. No you are just a fan so take the good with the bad. and keep it moving.

    Response to RR recruiting comments:
Look, for one thing comparing WVU vs. UM NFL players is unfair. Now, I?m a Michigan Man, but you have to look at the schools themselves. WVU is, and always has been, a smaller school than UM. UM gets bigger players and has a richer history. Thus, it?s going to be easier to think of more UM alum in the NFL than WVU. So true, not many from RR?s previously coaching stops have gone onto the NFL, but let?s see what he can do at UM before we call him out on his ?flawed? tactics. However, your point on smaller players is well taken, but WVU?s small offense did fair well against what was supposed to be NC?s nasty defense. As to the decommitment problem (one that worries myself), players, like fans, may need more security in the direction of the program, while still being intrigued by the history of UM. Last words; RR?s second year at WVU as head coach (2002), WVU recruiting class, as stated by Rivals.com, was #37 and had 6-3* and 2-4*. His last class (2007) was #23 and had 16-3*, 4-4*, and 1-5*.

I think we’re over reacting to this. I think he’s psychicing out the fans because we’re publishing his enrollment at the school. I believe he will still come to Michigan.

  32. Anonymous says:

Once again I do believe RR will do a great job at Michigan, but fans will have to get use to us not being the feeder system for the NFL like we use to. Look at Penn State, Florida, just to name a couple look at the size at their skill positions, they run the spread but with bigger players. RR like those little Pat White, Noel Devine types. Great for Coll. not so for NFl.So if “M” fan can live with that then all is well

  33. Benjamin says:

LOLz @ Anon fight. Now, stop being so lame.

While his nickname is Big Will, remember he is just a kid. Kids love drama, and the suspense is building. Michigan is not out until he picks up another school’s hat.

    Chillax.

  34. Anonymous says:

Big Will might be playing chess, however there is still something going on wrong in the recruiting process. To be the Master of the spread RR is sure having problems getting the top rated athletes to come play here. Michigan is Michigan, just would have thought the top skill players would be excited to come play in this offense. West Virgina is still getting 4 & 5 Star skilled players after RR departure. They have the #1 wr a higher rated qb prospect than Forcier and one of the top backs in the country naming them as his favorite. Why cant RR get these guys to come to M we have better academics, tradition. There is a problem people.

    Whats the latest on Lalota?

  36. Anonymous says:

William Campbell being enrolled at UM means nothing because he is also enrolled at Miami, Florida, and L$U. When a player wants to enroll early and is undecided, it is very common for the player to enroll at multiple schools so that their paper work is in order regardless of their choice.

Unlike many of the posters here, I actually hope the young man is successful and plays to his potential. It is not like he is going to MSU or O$U. For those who wish ill on this young man: GROW UP and get a life!

    ?????????????????????????????????????

  38. Anonymous says:

If you people are going to attacking anybody attack the grown ups (coaches) for not selling the program.

  39. Anonymous says:

Why all the panic. Michigan has recruited 2 Defensive Tackles from LA and OK. Whose to say that they won’t turn out better than Big Will?

  40. Anonymous says:

It is never easy to sell a program after going 3-9. That is why it is critical that we go to a bowl game next season to show that RR is making progress. I think Big Will has some serious weight issues as well as a huge ego and poor work ethic. Regardless of where he goes, he needs to correct the above or he will be a flop.

  41. Anonymous says:

For one both of those other defensive tackle prospects are soft commits, with visits to other schools. Second every time a recruit shuns Michigan fans say they got paid or the player stinks. How do you go from swinging on Big Will jock to him being over weight , poor work ethic and all that over night. You guys that post these type of remarks make me see why people dont like Michigan fan. These are not the Bo days know more. You have schools in the Mac stepping up Boise State, South Florida …etc. Get over it, Michigan dont have the same appeal its use.

  42. Anonymous says:

Any guy calling these kids a piece of shit I guarantee are 120 pound grown men who only got on the field if they where the waterboy or a male cheerleader.

  43. Anonymous says:

Notre Dame had a horrible season a year ago and still had one of the best recruiting class. They have uncertainty now but not one of their recruits hace decommitted and they have a higher rated class then Michigan. So dont tell me it was the record one bad year dont suppose trump 50 years of tradition. RR needs to get it together. All you fans thinking Forcier is the answer. 6’0 175 pound quarterbacks in the BIG 10 dont last.

  44. Anonymous says:

I have been saying that Big Will is overweight for several weeks now because he is overweight. I would rather have Gholston in next year’s class than Campbell this year. Big Will was owned by Gholston when they played and exposed Big Will’s slowness and poor work ethic. Anyone who makes a t-shirt with his picture on it has a huge ego problem.

Beaver and Newsome were big losses and well deserving of their high ranking, but Big Will is not a big loss at all. I think he is the most overrated recruit ever, based on his senior film. There is a reason why USC is not in the picture: they do not want him. I heard Alabama and Miami backed off based on his poor work ethic and weight issues. Potential means jack if it is not used.

  45. Anonymous says:

Besides Notre Lame, how many 3-9 teams have top recruiting classes? Answer: NOT MANY! The record DOES have an impact on the recruiting class.

Besides, Notre Lame and UM are not comparable because Weiss has been successful his first 2 seasons at ND, while Rich Rod has not been successful at UM so far. Weiss can point to his early success when he had Brady Quinn, while Rich Rod has to use WVU as his recruiting pitch, which to a recruit, is much less tangible.

  46. Anonymous says:

get a life, its college football. Oh and like Michigan players never had problems with the law???? RR will do fine, not like we were that amazing under BO or LC..no NC’s and one with LC

  47. Anonymous says:

You missed the point idiot, it wasnt about players having problems the subject was about programs sending players to the next level. Get a brain, its only life.

  48. Anonymous says:

To you guys posting about how Big Will work ethic is so poor, if thats the case why in the hell do Michigan want him ?

Maybe WC is not the real deal but that still dont explain the recruiting problems Michigan is having. Its not about the kids its about the program. RR seems to be doing a poor job selling the program.
