Week 10 Big Ten Preview

12:00 PM | Northwestern @ #17 Minnesota (ESPN2)

Believe it or not, but Minnesota has a chance to improve to 8-1 with a win over Northwestern. Considering the Wildcats lost to Indiana last week, I think the Golden Gophers will be 8-1 after this game is played. They already have pulled off an amazing turnaround after going 1-11 a year ago, and with a not so tough remaining schedule, they have a legitimate chance of going 11-1.

Prediction: Minnesota wins comfortably

12:00 PM | Wisconsin @ #21 Michigan State (ESPN)

Although the Badgers are coming into this game fresh off a win over Iowa, Michigan State is riding a big wave of momentum after beating Michigan. There is always the chance that the Spartans could have a letdown after such a big win, but unfortunately I don’t see that happening. I hate to say this, but it seems like Mark Dantonio is able to get his players to focus only on the game they’re about to play, which is a sharp contrast from John L. Smith and Bobby Williams. MSU didn’t implode after losing to Michigan a year ago, and I don’t think they will implode this year after a win, either.

Prediction: Michigan State wins a close one

12:00 PM | Central Michigan @ Indiana (BTN)

I was very tempted to pick CMU to win this game, but in the end I opted for Indiana instead. As long as the Hoosiers’ quarterbacks are healthy enough to play, I think they can and will win this game.

Prediction: Indiana wins a close one

3:30 PM | Iowa @ Illinois (ABC)

I think Illinois will get its season back on track against Iowa to rebound from last week’s loss to Wisconsin. The Hawkeyes are improving and their running back, Shonn Greene, is quickly becoming a star. Even so, I have a feeling Juice Williams and company will be able to pull out a victory to go above .500 on the season.

Prediction: Illinois wins a close one

Predictions Update:

Last week: 3-2

Overall: 52-14
