Thursday Quick Hits: Odoms and Graham Questionable for Saturday

  • Wide receiver Martavious Odoms and defensive end Brandon Graham are both questionable for Saturday’s game against Toledo. Odoms has a sprained shoulder and Graham is suffering from a leg infection. Losing either one of these players would be a big loss. Odoms is Michigan’s top receiver and was the starting kick returner against Illinois, and Graham is a beast on the defensive line and is Michigan’s best pass-rusher.
  • Also on the injury front, Austin Panter will miss the Toledo game due to a shoulder injury. Perry Dorrestein, on the other hand, will likely play despite getting hit in the head against Illinois.
  • For the third time this season, I won the BlogPoll’s weekly award for being Mr. Numb Existence.
  • According to Mike Farrell of Rivals.com, Michigan commits Bryce McNeal and Shavodrick Beaver both are planning on taking visits. Farrell claims that McNeal “may not end up” at Michigan and that Oklahoma State and Texas Tech are the leading candidates to sign Beaver.

From what I understand based on a conversation with a recruit recently, McNeal is not absolutely set on going to Michigan, which is why he is lining up visits. However, he also told me that the news on Beaver isn’t true and that the quarterback commit isn’t wavering in his commitment to Michigan one bit. I guess we’ll see how things play out, but with signing day four months away, a lot could happen.

  • Toledo is being paid $500,000 to play Michigan on Saturday. This will be the first meeting between the two schools.
  • Varsity Blue takes you inside Illinois’ screen pass that went for a touchdown.
  • Auburn fired offensive coordinator Tony Franklin yesterday. Franklin was in his first year with Auburn and unsuccessfully tried to install the spread offense. The Tigers had the 104th offense in the nation, and Tommy Tuberville felt a change needed to be made.

At the bottom of the link w/ McNeal and Beaver possibly taking other vist’s it mentions Will Campbell and how USC has cooled on him as they are convinced he will end up in Ann Arbor which is hella good news for us (considering what happened with RoJo and Perry.
