MSU is favored by 4, not Michigan.

Let’s hope that Minor decides to upstage Ringer and make a lot of tough, punishing runs into MSU’s gut without fumbling. If he can step up and do that I like our chances.

Is this the game that Michigan finally turns it around? It has to be if Michigan is going to go to a bowl game. The offense has got to put it together for four quarters and the defense has got to play well enough for whatever points the offense scores to be good enough to stand up to win the game.

From now on there should be no excuses and that includes Special Teams and injuries. Michigan is now eight games into the season and they should be playing better. No way should Michigan have lost to Toledo, and to put up a good first half against Penn State only to implode in the second half, both offense and defense? What was that about?

Michigan can still salvage the season if they start winning today. We know this is a rivalry game with plenty of emotion, but if this football team can’t step up now and start playing with some pride and purpose now, then this season is truly shot.

This team on both sides of the ball has got to have someone to stand up and take charge. They need leadership. Coach Rod should have had team captains to be that motivator on the field. Someone to kick the butts of their own team mates when they aren’t focused enough.

This has got to be the game that Michigan pulls it all together and get this season turned around. No excuses!!!

Needless to say, the season is over. Just gotta hope next year is better

I didn’t get to see the game, only heard some of the broadcast over the net. Three interceptions, and a fumble was not good and other mental lapses of course, but I get the impression that there is some improvement. The game seemed to be closer than the score indicated, and gives us some momentum going into the next few games, am I right?

This game was not even close to what the score was. Michigan caught breaks on the missed field goals and their first TD to stay in this game. And there is zero improvement. The offense and defense especially flat out suck.

there was improvement. I see hope for next year. Esp. with a mobile QB.

Two great panoramic photos from the game at the Detroit News:

The one from the Spartan section was taken seconds before the first touchdown.

It looks like parts of the offense are understanding what Rod is trying to accomplish. Unfortunately one of the parts that doesn’t seem to understand is the QB-who-shall-not-be-named. The plays are there, but if you have no accuracy, well, you saw what happened. He seems like a nice kid, but to me, he is one of those great IM athletes who is in way over his head when it comes to D-1 football. So for those clamoring for Michigan’s “old offense”, let it go. The QB-who-shall-not-be-named would struggle in any system. Let’s just hope the rest of the offense will know enough of the system next year to help out whoever the new QB will be.
