Friday Quick Hits: Zoltan Is a Ray Guy Semifinalist
- Zoltan Mesko is a semifinalist for the Ray Guy Award, which is given to the nation’s top punter each year.
- Michigan plays Ohio State tonight and tomorrow in hockey, and The Blog That Yost Built has 10 things to know about the Buckeyes.
- Michigan’s basketball schedule is looking like it will be quite the challenge. The preseason ESPN/USA Today Poll came out yesterday, and Michigan is scheduled to play eight games against currently ranked teams, including five against top 10 teams. There’s also the potential for a game against #4 UCLA in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, meaning wins will be hard to come by in those games, at least, regardless of whether or not Michigan is improved compared to last season.
- Ben Cronin’s status for the upcoming season is in question due to a hip injury.
- Colts cornerback Marlin Jackson is out for the season because of a knee injury. He is now on the injured reserve just like Mike Hart, who tore his ACL earlier this season.
- Kevin Porter scored his first goal in the NHL last night.
