There will be a fan day on Sunday, August 17, that gives the public a chance to meet Michigan football players and coaches. MGoBlue has the details:

The University of Michigan football program will hold its annual Fan Day on Sunday, Aug. 17, at Oosterbaan Fieldhouse and the adjacent practice field behind Schembechler Hall. The autograph session and opportunity to meet the 2008 Wolverine team will run from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. EDT.

The event is free and open to the public. Fans will be allowed to enter the autograph area starting at 12:30 p.m. Parking will be available in the Blue Lot surrounding Crisler Arena. Fans can enter the area through the southwest entrance (just over the railroad tracks) or through the northeast entrance (main softball entrance). In order to expedite the autograph process and accommodate as many fans as possible, players and head coach Rich Rodriguez will provide one autograph per person.

Kudos to the athletic department for putting this together as there was some concern over whether or not a fan day would happen due to construction going on at Michigan Stadium. It will be a more confined environment over at Oosterbaan and the surrounding area, but that’s more than okay since fans will have a chance to see the team up close and personal.
