While I agree completely that it is unacceptable for such a proven franchise to release a game with this many bugs, I think the reason behind it is different than you imply....not that it matters.<br/><br/>As I work in the electronics industry myself, I suspect what happened isn't that their testers suck or they don't have enough. As I work in the electronics industry myself, I suspect what happened isn’t that their testers suck or they don’t have enough. I suspect that the code was not ready to be tested until too late and thus they didn’t have time to fix the bugs that were found.

At that point you make a business decision – do I release on time with known bugs that are going to annoy people? Or do I take a publicity hit for delaying the game release long enough to fix them. Both outcomes are less than ideal.
