Friday Quick Hits: Dennis Thames Visits Michigan

  • New adidas apparel is out.

The MDen has a new section on its site set up for the adidas gear, but Moe Sport Shops has a bigger selection at this time. For the most part the adidas shirts look pretty good, and the price for a replica home jersey is only $50. That is much more reasonable than paying $200 for an authentic jersey, so if you’re looking to buy the new uniform, I would suggest going with the replica since it’s so much cheaper.

  • Dennis Thames, a recruit from Mississippi that holds a Michigan offer and is the nephew of Tigers outfielder Marcus Thames, visited Ann Arbor on Tuesday. He is in the area this week as he is staying with his uncle Marcus and was able to get to U-M sooner than expected. The visit obviously went well as Dennis had nothing but good things to say.

“They sounded like nice coaches, good coaches to be around,” Dennis said while seated in front of his uncle’s locker, dressed in Tigers baseball pants and hat before batting practice. “Michigan would be my No. 1 right now. They’ve come at me the most and recruited me.”

Michigan is in very good position right now, but I would say a commit isn’t expected just yet as he will likely take some other visits before making a decision.

  • MGoBlog took Michael Rosenberg to task for becoming one article closer to turning into another Drew Sharp. Rosenberg wrote a very negative article about Rich Rodriguez and Michigan, continuing the recent trend of the Free Press completely hating on U-M. I don’t know what their problem has been lately, but to me, they are just as bad as the Ann Arbor News.
