Friday Quick Hits: Baseball Opens NCAA Tournament Play
- The Michigan baseball team plays Kentucky tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET. This is a home game for Michigan as they are hosting a regional for the NCAA Tournament. Eastern Michigan takes on Arizona in the other game at 2:00 p.m. today. To watch Michigan’s game, click here around 7:00 p.m.
- Maize n Brew interviewed a Kentucky blog to get the scoop on Michigan’s opponent tonight.
- Both The Michigan Daily and Baseball America previewed the Ann Arbor Regional.
- MGoBlue has a video of an interview with offensive coordinator Calvin Magee.
- Also on MGoBlue is a video about the recent unveiling of a painting of Bo Schembechler for Schembechler Hall.
- I mentioned earlier this week that NCAA Football 09 still had Ryan Mallett on Michigan’s roster as seen in some screenshots from Operation Sports. As it turns out, they don’t. There is a QB #15 on Michigan’s roster, but that is Steven Threet (the height/weight listed in the game match his real life measurables). Why EA Sports couldn’t simply make him #10 like in real life is beyond me, but I’m just glad that Mallett isn’t on the roster.
- Also from the screenshot linked above, we now know that Nick Sheridan has a rating of 74 and Justin Feagin a rating of 69. Feagin is by far the fastest QB with a speed rating of 85, and it doesn’t appear that David Cone is in the game.
- Former Michigan linebacker Chris Graham has signed with the Saints.
- West Virginia vs. Rich Rodriguez is going to mediation.
- All but 3 SEC coaches voted in favor of having an early signing day for college football recruiting. I agree that an early signing day would be nice, but I don’t like the SEC’s proposal simply because it doesn’t let a recruit that has taken an official visit sign early. Taking an official visit shouldn’t have any effect on whether or not a recruit can sign early.

I don’t understand why Feagin is only a 69?? He should be at least in the upper 80s and I bet he takes UM to the national title game this year!! Feagin is much better than Pryor as Pryor is slow and will always stuggle!
hal, as usual, you are delusional.
FYI, the link for the youtube video of OC Magee goes to an NCAA 09 page.
Thanks for the heads up, it’s fixed now.
