Boren Officially Becomes a Traitor

Surprise, surprise, Justin Boren is headed to Ohio State.

Offensive lineman Justin Boren has decided to transfer from Michigan to Ohio State, and OSU football historian Jack Park thinks it is an unprecedented move.

Citing disenchantment with the new Michigan coaching staff of Rich Rodriguez, Boren — a sophomore starter in 2007 — left the Wolverines last month. Coach Jim Tressel confirmed for The Dispatch last night that Boren, who attended Pickerington North, intends to play for the Buckeyes after sitting out the 2008 season because of NCAA transfer rules.

“It’s exciting to be coming back home to central Ohio,” Boren, who just finished the spring semester at Michigan, said in a statement through Tressel. “I am looking forward to the chance to help the Buckeyes continue their excellence in any way I can.”

Once Boren actually can play, I imagine what is said on the field will be pretty interesting to listen to. After all, as the quote above said, a move like this is unprecedented.

Boren didn’t just now become a traitor.

This is at least his second offense.

I hope the turncoat gets buried on the depth chart.

I think we will see how “soft” Boren really is. If he is “soft” as many here claim, he will be buried on the depth chart as only tough players play at Ohio State. If he plays at all, we will then know that him being labled as being soft was total BS. I am sure that Jim Tressel’s practices are just as tough as RR’s practices.

I think the pace of the practices is different for o-lineman. Not sure one is tougher than the other.

His family does live in Columbus, so it’s not like picking Blue’s arch-rival was his only motivation for the transfer.

Boren isn’t soft. From what I understand is that there was a problem with his position coach and that Boren didn’t exactly like his overly demeaning attitude.

Leave the kid alone. He made his choice and hopefully he’ll work his way into the starting line up.

I would leave him alone if he simply left but his comments that threw our program under the bus means open season on him. Plain and simple.

That was my point. Boren would not even be at ohio state if he was soft. There have been many posts on this blog stating that Boren was soft. Just look at the picture with his head being placed on a baby’s body. If he was really soft, he would be going to Bowling Green or CMU, not ohio state.

It is a shame that many UM people have chosen to trash the kid. The fans that labeled him as soft are just sour grapes or very ignorant.

I think you meant “QUIT HIDING,” not “quite hiding.”

Edited: I am still amazed at how many tOSU fans there are on an UM blog site, quit hiding behind those ugly colors and join the dark side…you know you want to!!

I cheer for ohio state in football and basketball. I cheer for UM in softball, swimming, gymnastics, ping pong, chess, and the other sports UM is good at.

Whatever, who cares, see you in 2009 Boren when you come to AA, I’m sure that’ll be a unpleasant visit for you.

Oh and also, welcome to Michigan Mr Newsome….Go Blue!!!!!!
