Terrelle Pryor Signs With Ohio State

After over a month of waiting for Terrelle Pryor to announce where he would play college football, a decision has finally been made. Pryor announced that he picked Ohio State over Michigan earlier today, bringing an end to one of the craziest recruitments I’ve personally ever followed.

Pryor’s decision to pick Ohio State isn’t a surprise at all, but what is more surprising is what he said during his news conference. Pryor answered a question about when he made up his mind that OSU was the place for him by saying that he decided only this morning. Apparently Michigan did make up quite a bit of ground as it sounded like they were a serious contender up until the very end.

I wish Pryor good luck in the future, but obviously not too much good luck now that he is a Buckeye. I know a lot of Michigan fans out there may say that they’re glad he didn’t decide to come to Ann Arbor because of all the rumored baggage he has, but I would strongly disagree with that attitude. I would have loved to see Pryor in a Michigan uniform as it would help the quarterback situation out greatly this fall . Plus, we will see Pryor play against Michigan three or four times in the coming years, and trying to defend a player like him probably won’t be easy.

Even with all of that being said, I’m not disappointed at all that Pryor is going to OSU. I’ve had him going to OSU in my mind ever since he didn’t make an announcement on signing day, so today basically confirmed what I thought for the last few weeks. On top of that, I will gladly take Justin Feagin and the quarterbacks already on the roster and move on. Recruiting of a dual-threat QB for the Class of 2009 will likely heat up in the coming weeks, and it wouldn’t surprise me if Michigan got a commitment in the near future, so Michigan will be fine.

Yes, it would be better for us if Pryor to came to Michigan instead of Ohio State, but this isn’t the end of the world by any means.

UPDATE: Pryor had a Joe Barksdale moment when saying which college he picked:

Flanked by his parents, brother, sister and other supporters, the 6-foot-6 Pryor wasted no time with his decision: “If everyone’s here,” he said, “University of Ohio State.”

He then unzipped his windbreaker to reveal an Ohio State T-shirt and donned an OSU hat.

UOSU does have a certain ring to it I guess.

Michigan will be just fine with the qb’s they have and will get. Threet & Fagin will go through the stages of development and so will the offense. No Pryor, No problem!

My hope is that somehow, Feagin will get an opportunity to get caught up with the new offense before the fall. In my heart I truly feel that Feagin is better at running this offense than Pryor would have been. Maybe Feagin can get some summer work in if the NCAA will allow those things.

Dipsy doo… no Pryor for you! Uh oh!!!!!!!!!!

Feagin/Threet splitting time along with the great D-Line we have and strong cornerback position will help us to a successful season. Be ready for Terrance Robinson to have a big impact in the slot as well.

*Rich Rod won’t let us down*

Assuming TP develops into OSU’s starter, it just gives UM D a very nice target to go after.

Now that it’s done…time to move on!

You still wish pryor well after what he did to us? He has toyed with UM ever since RR got the job, including his announcement of University of…ohio state? That terd knows that they are ohio state university and we are the University of Michigan. The only reason he started out with “university of” was to again toy with UM.

I, for one, hope he ends up being a complete bust and sits the bench for four years. If pryor does play, I hope Mr. Demens gets to know him very well!!

anon…actually he said “the university at Ohio State” it’s a slang twist, the media were the first to misquote him but that doesn’t surprise me either.
Regarding the toying with U of M comment, seems I recall it was RR who toyed first by whispering in Terrell’s ear before anyone the fact that he had left West Virginia. I’d think that very few would really accuse Pryor of such a thing, his focus was on playing basketball he never even took any more official visits and payed out of pocket to spend a weekend with his buddies at OSU a few weeks back. Rich Rod is a great coach just give him time.

If coach Rod says that he will only speak about those who play for Michigan, then why can’t we do the same thing? Let’s move on from this Pryor thing…please!
