Isaiah Bell Commits to Michigan

Michigan received two commitments in less than 24 hours on Friday and Saturday, and now they have gotten their third in four days as Ohio safety Isaiah Bell committed to the Wolverines today. That brings the total number of commits for the 2009 recruiting class up to four thanks to a busy few days.

Bell is primarily a safety, but after watching his highlight video, you can tell that he sees the field like a kick returner. He does return kicks according to Scouting Ohio, and that shows when he picks off a pass as there were quite a few interceptions that he returned for a touchdown in that video. On Rivals and Scout, he hasn’t been evaluated just yet, but I would expect him to get three stars.

Welcome to Michigan, Isaiah.

Watching his film, he comes off more as a heat seeking missile honing in on it’s target. The kid knows where to be and who to tackle. God knows UM needs people who know how to tackle!

Another nice grab from the Suckeye State!

If Bell is 215 pounds right now, I bet he bulks up and becomes an athletic LB. If you look at the defenses in the SEC, they like these smaller, faster, and more athletic LBs.

That kid is tough!! I can tell he will not pull a Boren and then blame it on “family values” or whatever Boren said.

Also, I am glad we locked up Teric Jones, who I think could play RB, slot WR, or DB with him being so fast.

I am excited with RR’s recruiting ties to Ohio and the South. If we can steal some away from bucknut u, that will make us better and them worse off. We won’t see RR’s south connections pay off till near the end of the recruiting season as they usually decide later in the year. The midwest recruits usually decide much earlier, although some do wait till the end.
