that’s cool about UM playing the mets, although you have to wonder why not the tigers. the braves have played (and crushed) some good GT squads over the years, so i wouldn’t expect much different between UM/mets (although the mets do suck, imo – as a purely objective atlanta native and braves fan, that is).
I like the braves as my 2nd favorite team. The Oakland A’s are my favorite team, though. I am curious to see how well UM does.
mr. andrew the mets WILL win the nl pennant….write that down bucko
Only to get clobbered by the TIGERS in the world series!!!
Final: UM 4
NY mets 4
Yeah, right, the Mets will win the nl pennant.
Great game for UM to not lose to a professional team!
Not only is 4-4 an impressive tie to the ‘best team in the NL’; be aware the Mets needed two runs in the bottom of the ninth to avoid an App State kinda humility

Sorry the link to their box score doesn’t fit. If you want the view the stats the portion of the url beyond the ? is like so: “gameId=280226121&date=20080226″
Bad day for UM’s bball team losing to NW. Oh well, there is next year to look forward to.
I a little worried about MSU’s start to the 2009 recruiting class. They already have 2 commits with UM offers per rivals – (LB Norman: offers from UM, PSU, WVU, Oregon, etc.) and (RB Baker, who has listed offers from UM, Florida, Georgia, Texas, etc.) I just don’t remember MSU getting these types of kids in the past. Hopefully RR will establish contacts quickly as these players normally are always locks to the good guys!
