McGuffie Signs His LOI to Michigan!

After a hectic day of rumors about possibly changing his commitment to Cal, Houston-area running back and YouTube sensation Sam McGuffie has finally signed his letter of intent to Michigan. This news puts an exclamation point on a signing day filled with ups and downs. Overall, I’d say it is just a relief.

It wouldn’t normally be a surprise to lose a commit or two on signing day considering recruiting is defined by surprises. Heck, just look at the trio of signees that made their intentions to Michigan known this morning. All three were committed to other schools when they decided to come to Michigan instead, so a decommit here or there is nothing shocking. For Sam McGuffie, though, the very fact that he was having second thoughts was a complete and total surprise.

McGuffie had committed to Michigan way back in the summer and was doing his best to get other recruits to follow him to Ann Arbor. There have been rumors throughout the last few months of him taking visits elsewhere, but every time a new one popped up it was usually shrugged off as being nothing big. His final rumored visit to Cal recently obviously was something different considering some rumors today had him pegged as becoming a Golden Bear. In the end, though, they meant nothing, thankfully, as McGuffie is a Wolverine.

MSC extends a big welcome back to Sam McGuffie. We now still will be able to see “White Lightning” in a Michigan backfield next season. Go Blue!

Wow…….that is great news. Sean, how would you rate today? I thought it was a huge success. With the exception of Perry, we got everyone that we wanted (Pryor excluded). I am very excited about this class. Let me know your thoughts.
