The good people of UM need to read the contract that RR (Regal Rat) signed with WVU. He proposed the buyout cause to show his good faith. In the contract he speficied that he would notify WVU in writing and give them 30 days to correct any violation of his written contract before the contract was considered broken. RR also agree to repay WVU for any court costs in settleing any disagreement on the contract. The sum to be paid was not for damage done, just a figure RR wanted to show his good faith.

Coach Rod is/was only as good as his word, ain’t much. Does UM realize that Rich’s defense of his breaking his word is that he didn’t want the buyout. Didn’t he sign the very same thing with UM? Your’e next!

You have to admit that if RR leaves UM in the same fashion as he left WVU, there would be a negative reaction from UM fans. (Although UM fans would be much classier and not make any death threats.) RR needs to pay the $4 million and move on since that is what will shut WVU up…

I was just browsing this blog, getting a kick out of reading how all of the new coach Rod fans are defending him, (funny to start with–he may be Michigans new coach, but that does not absolve him from past mistakes–bad luck that you are stuck with that) and I wasnt even going to post. But then I saw someone above say that he is a class act. That might be the most ill informed comment I have ever read. I am not going to waste time listing all of the reasons why he is the furthest thing from a class act that a college football coach can be. But before you write something like that, do some research (his statements aren’t hard to find, especially now) on what he said to the WVU players, fans and administration just this past year. Pay particular attention to what he said about never leaving WVU. Ever. (I once knew this guy that had an affair. He married the girl and then later he was shocked that she did him wrong too.) Defending someone you know something about is a lot different than just defending someone because he’s the new head coach. Congrats on your new hire, hope he didn’t shred his playbook…with both of his plays. The guy was so lucky at WVU, he had the kind of talent that would make any coach look good. I really hope that Michigan doesn’t have the talent to bail him out because this guy needs to get what he deserves.

RR will not counter sue because it will be almost impossible for him to win. The burden of proof would be on RR to show that WVU intentionally smeared his record/reputation. This would be difficult if not impossible to prove, especially with RR being a “public figure.” Otherwise, Drew Sharp and robbie parker would have been sued multiple times by multiple coaches. The best thing RR can do at this point is pay the $4 million as his contract says.

I am not address the records in Coach Rod’s office. His records are his records and when a coach leaves, he needs to take his files with him, but if you go to CBS Sports you will see this quote, “Citing anonymous sources, the Charleston Gazette reported Tuesday that files kept in Rodriguez’s private office disappeared between Dec. 16 and Jan. 3, along with strength and conditioning records from the weight room.”
Question, Why take the strength and conditining records of players @ WVU? Unless you are childish.

west virginia is just upset that their program will never be this successful again. rich rod could counter-sue west virginia for harassment and bring false allegations against him? i mean technically he could say it cost him his good name causing him to lose endorsements up to say around $4 million. i doubt he will because hes a class act but if he did, it could cause wv to drop their $4 million suit against him.

i’m sure we can all agree to move on… as for “getting rid of that $4 million buyout hanging over his head”, that is a contractual obligation that should rightfully be paid…. if RR doesn’t want to pay and wants to smear the WVU athletic department by spreading stories about how noncompliant they were to his contract (which he did through personal allies of him to the national media in the beginning of this soap opera) then he can only expect WVU to do the same to prove how he broke the contract…. either pay the $4 million as you agreed to when you signed the contract, or let this drag on until the courts handle it

its stuff like this that really shows that the wvu people need to get out of the backwoods and come back to reality.i dont blame coach rod for leaving when all this kind of crap comes out behind your back.
