As I said yesterday, recruiting will start to get going again in the near future, specifically with the two high school all-star games that are being played on Saturday. One of them – the U.S. Army All-American Bowl – features many Michigan commits, and two of them are luckily going to remain Michigan commits well after the game is played.
The first is Sam McGuffie, who is excited about the coaching change. From that alone, you can tell he will remain a Wolverine.
“He was just like, ‘You’ve seen what Noel Devine has done and Steve Slaton, fast guys like that. We can get you the ball like that and incorporate you the same way.’ That will be good. Just get me in space and let me shake some people.”
The other recruit that is going to remain a Michigan commit is Boubacar Cissoko, who provided some worry for the Maize and Blue when he talked about visiting Penn State recently. Worry no more, though, as a PSU visit is no longer going to happen as Cissoko is going to stay with the Maize and Blue.
“Where I stand right now, the day of the game, I’ll make my commitment to Michigan,” Cissoko said. “I actually got my hat in the bag. I talked to coach (Rich)Rodriguez and I talked to his staff also so right now everything is going smooth for me.”
Cissoko was set to take an official visit to Penn State on Jan. 11. When asked if he’ll still take that visit, Cissoko said he’s done.
“All of that is done with, sir,” he said. “It’s my word.”
I am sure we’ll hear about more Michigan commits in the coming days, so keep an eye out for that.
