Northwestern Game Stuck on the Big Ten Network

Michigan’s game a week from Saturday (September 29) at Northwestern will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network. (HT: MGoBlog) That was expected for a while, but it still hurts now that it is a reality. If you live in Michigan and have Comcast, you will not see this game. I haven’t heard anything about negotiations in a while, and it doesn’t appear a deal will be done anytime soon.

To make matters worse, rumors since the summer also have the Eastern Michigan game pegged to be on the BTN, so it looks like most may miss back-to-back games. I can’t even remember the last time I’ve missed a Michigan football game, so I’ll have to figure something out before the 29th. It’s either that or go to Comcast and do things I would regret, but I don’t think that would help the situation at all.

Either way the games just need to be back on television, no matter what. I know your beef is with Comcast but the BTN deserves just as much, if not more, blame. They have been holding on to an untenable position and stubbornly rejected any reasonable compromise, such as the sports tier idea. If the BTN were on a sports tier, die-hards could get it without hearing complaints about paying extra from those that don?t care about watching Eastern Michigan vs. Michigan

I agree, the BTN really is screwing the fans over. I’m not taking sides because my hate of Comcast is for many reasons other than this, but I definitely would say the BTN is more at fault. Comcast is just easier to blame.
