Big Ten Recap – Week 3
I had some trouble picking games this past Saturday for the Big Ten as I doubled my amount of incorrect picks in only one day. Overall, I picked 3 of the 11 total games wrong on Saturday, which still isn’t bad, but it definitely wasn’t my best showing. Here is a look at how things went:

Moving on, the two other picks I got wrong really did surprise me. One, however, surprised me more than the other. Iowa State upsetting Iowa was completely unexpected. Before the Iowa game, ISU had lost to Kent State and I-AA Northern Iowa. Not exactly two great teams, but they still managed to take down the Hawkeyes. Anyone out there still want Ferentz as a candidate to replace Carr someday? That’s directed at you, Mary Sue Coleman. Please just stay away from the hiring process.
The other game I picked wrong was having Northwestern beating Duke. The Blue Devils never are any good in football, but still managed to beat the Wildcats. The only thing I can say is that hopefully this will mean Michigan’s game at NW won’t be too tough later this month. Now only if anyone could watch it (see above).
Going into Week 4 of play, the Big Ten portion of the schedule begins. That means there will be little to no non-conference games on the schedule, making each and every game greatly important. It also means that games should get tougher to predict as upsets are now more likely to happen. Although, we’ve seen enough upsets already to disprove that theory.
