James McKinney to Transfer to Louisville

When Michigan’s official football roster was released, one of the players notably absent was defensive tackle James McKinney. The reason for McKinney not being on the roster was due to medical issues, and Lloyd Carr had said he hoped that things would work out so James could return to the team.

News is now coming out that McKinney will be leaving the team and school altogether, as he is going to transfer to Louisville, which is also his hometown.

The reason behind McKinney’s transfer isn’t exact, but from everything I’ve heard, it’s to be closer to home in hopes of getting his medical problem ironed out. Hopefully McKinney transferring will lead to him being able to play football again some day since he was a great player and person to have on the team. Good luck at Louisville.
