NCAA Football 08 Hits Shelves Today

Football season must be right around the corner now as NCAA 08 is officially released today. There are approximately a lucky few hundred people that have managed to find the game early due to incompetent employees or having connections, but for the rest of us, we will now be able to get the game.

As a college football fan that has played this game series since NCAA 1998, this year’s version looks to be the most promising. Apologies in advance to those stuck with only a PS2 or XBox, but 08 on the 360 or PS3 looks absolutely amazing. Whether it be the smooth gameplay, new in-depth recruiting, or sweet-looking highlight feature that allows you to go back and save any play, I think the $60 will be worth it.

Personally, I actually just decided to upgrade to a 360 this year after seeing just how big of an improvement this and other games are in general. I’ve already run into problems as my 360 broke down and started scratching all my games, so it currently is sitting in a Microsoft repair center down in Texas waiting to be fixed. Thanks to the announcement of an extended warranty to 3 years made recently by Microsoft, I now get to wait for another few weeks before my 360 is back home. Luckily, for the time being, I have a replacement 360 that I’m borrowing, otherwise I would really be screwed.

Getting back to NCAA, I plan on getting the game later today. I’ll probably spend a good portion of the rest of the day playing it, so unless any big news breaks, don’t count on me posting. Eventually, I’ll get up a review of the game once I have played it enough. Anyways, to the college football fans out there, Merry Christmas in July.
