Kevin Koger Picks Michigan Over Ohio State
Michigan finally beat Ohio State in something, and although it wasn’t a football game, it was a recruiting battle over Toledo TE/DE Kevin Koger. Koger is rated as 4 stars by both Rivals and Scout and is versatile. He is listed as a tight end, but also has the ability to play defensive end if that ever is needed someday.
Within the last week, Ohio State “insiders” and Buckeye fans that follow recruiting were actually pretty confident that Koger would be heading to Columbus. After a visit to Ann Arbor a week ago today, things slowly started to change. In the end, it looked like a 50-50 deadlock between the rival schools, and Koger decided to make the choice to head north to Ann Arbor rather than south to Columbus by committing to Michigan.
This marks Michigan’s 11th commitment with a few more that potentially could be on the way in the near future. Another recruiting battle will take place over defensive tackle Garrett Goebel, who hails from Illinois. It appears that he will choose between Michigan and Ohio State, and if U-M comes out on top again, it would be the most wins the Wolverines had over the Buckeyes in a long time when relating to football.
Getting back to Kevin Koger, his dad, who actually is a Michigan fan, had this to say about his son’s commitment.
“We’re coming your way,” Mr. Koger said regarding his son’s decision to attend Michigan. “He came to the decision today. I had written down a couple of things for him and Michigan was just where he felt most comfortable. He always loved Michigan and he grew up a Michigan fan. It’s just where he felt most comfortable.”
I think the part of growing up a Michigan fan may have had a large impact in his decision. Aside from everything else, if a kid grows up and dreams of playing football for a certain school, chances are he would go to that school if he had the chance. Of course, somebody like Ohio State could come in and impress him enough to sway his decision, but luckily for us, that didn’t happen.

one exception that I know of is OMAR HUNTER who grew up a UM fan and decided to become a child molestor..er I mean Domer.
Yup, he also was a Michigan fan but Weis got to him.
One other thing to sway Koger, his mother isn’t in the best of health and he wanted to stay closer to home.
