Yea, even though that video is the worst thing ever made...App. football is no joke. Just because we are 1-AA doesn't mean that we can't hold our our with you "big boys" i'm not saying that we're gonna win because michigan is a very respectable program, but just as i give MI it's respect..people should give App. the respect they have earned over the past few years...especially the past 2 with back 2 back NATIONAL championships..

Haha, I do wonder who had the bright idea of making that video, talk about a bad P.R. decision.

I do think Appalachian State is probably better than more than a few Division I-A teams, but I just have the problem with Michigan scheduling a Division I-AA or FCS team. I'm not gonna write anyone off though. The problem I see is some of the players could do that and the results could be like Ball State last year or worse.

I'm a proud app Alumni and if I ever figure out who made that video I'll bury them in the Appalachian Mountains myself. But anyway, there are worse teams you could have played. We're I-AA, but we took the National Championship the last two years in a Row. Without a doubt we'll be written off by 98,000 of the fans in attendance at the game but I'll be there cheering in my Black and Gold. We might not win but we should be able to put forth a decent game

people: sure, M wants to have a fair shot at the MNC every year and $$$, so they won't schedule USC, ND, BC in the same year or something. but other schools (even the BCs & Vandys) won't even accept a 2-for-1 with M since they already have someone else on the schedule every year for the next 5 years and they want $$$ too. it's a trickle down (or up?..i don't know analogies)...the Vandys of CFB want $$$ so they go to IAA teams...then theres no one for M to schedule....so they have to go IAA too.

good god, the arguement *isn't* that an AD needs 4-5 years to find a team and agree to a series of games---that can happen in a few weeks for godsake. make a few phone calls, discuss, draw up papers and sign em. bam- we have an agreement for a 2-for-1 in '09-'11. or '07-'09. it's that *everyone's* sched is already filled for the next 3-5 years. so there's only a handfull of teams that have common dates as M. plus, the other teams want $$ too so they go for the easy rout, IAA. This is exactly what Vandy did for 07. they turned *us* down. what the hell can Martin do? that leaves the pool virtually empty for M to get teams to play. anyone who rips Marin for scheduling in 06 and 07 simply doesn't understand the current environment of CFB. read what Martin said and the history of this process...this was a worst case scenario, and the depts' goal is NOT to get IAA teams every year, or even 2 MAC teams every year. these situations are born not from within M administration, but within the current climate of NCAA/BCS football.

The point that Martin had a whole year to come up with something good and he failed is reason enough to criticize him. There are a lot of ppl who are sticking up for Martin stating that we need about 5 years time to fix up schedule, these are the same ones who say they are extremely comfortable if we go 9-3 next year. They also point out that we already have a killer OOC sked, if they think that playing a lower level BCS or a straight up BCS program like Rutgers is suicide, then i am sorry to say that I totally differ from them about our program and what its all about..being the leaders and the best!!!

You were definitely just looking for any excuse to show that rediculous video again. There is no way I can take ASU seriously at all now.
