Mike Kolodziej To Sit Out Season After All
I had reported yesterday that Mike Kolodziej had been cleared to play and had a chance to work his way into the starting lineup. It turns out that he won’t be playing at all this season, according to Lloyd Carr. In the press conference yesterday to get everyone ready for the start of the season, Carr had this to say:
About Mike Kolodziej … “Mike Kolodziej’s season is over. Early in the camp we had a problem, and so I think in his best interest Mike is not going to play this fall. I would hesitate to say it, but I think I can say it’s been ongoing. That’s where we are.”
Even though a quote coming straight from Kolo, where he stated that “everything’s good” and he’s “good to go,” was published in the Free Press, it now seems that Lloyd Carr has a different opinion on the situation. It had originally appeared that Kolodziej’s condition was just a scare and that a doctor had checked him out and said that it would be nothing to worry about. Now, there may be more to the story. Lloyd may just be taking a precautionary measure as there may not be full confirmation of no problems yet, or there’s something we’re not being told.
My guess is that there’s more to the story, but the rest won’t be told as Kolodziej wants to keep it under wraps. This certainly raises questions surrounding Kolo again as it’s probably going to be the truth if it’s coming from the head coach. Whether or not Kolo appears on the field at all will be up in the air. More on the situation as info becomes available. Until then, your guess is as good as mine.
