Dwayne Jarrett Declared Ineligible
Southern Cal star wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett, thought to be the centerpiece of USC’s offense after the departures of Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush, is not even able to play as of right now. Jarrett was ruled ineligible by the NCAA after being found to have not paid enough of the rent for the apartment he shared with Matt Leinart during last season.
This doesn’t mean that Jarrett can’t play for the entire 2006 season. It doesn’t even mean he’ll miss a single game. All that needs to happen is for Jarrett to apply for reinstatement with the NCAA and then possibly pay back thousands of dollars to Matt Leinart’s father. Leinart’s father is the one that paid for much of the rent in the apartment the two star players shared.
