If Only it Were Football
Over the Easter weekend, the Michigan baseball team did something that the football team couldn’t, 4 separate times. The baseball team swept the Buckeyes in a 4-game series. On Friday, Michigan won 14-3 in a pounding of Ohio State. On Saturday, following the spring game, Michigan won twice in a doubleheader. During the first game, Michigan won convincingly 7-1; the score was 2-1 Michigan in extra innings during the second game. Finally, today, Michigan defeated Ohio State to cap off the sweep by a score of 5-4. Even women’s tennis won 6-1 today over Ohio State.
Why can’t this translate on the football field? For the last 4 out of 5 seasons Michigan fans everywhere have had to suffer from trash talk by that annoying Buckeye fan in the office, or somewhere else in your life. I’d gladly trade in a sweep of baseball for a win on the gridiron. Going down to Columbus isn’t going to help this year, so we better get our wins over OSU wherever we can take them I guess.
